Definition: Fourth-grade mathematics proficiency gives the percentage of fourth-grade public school students in the United States who scored at or above proficiency level in mathematics in 2019. Public schools include charter schools and exclude Bureau of Indian Education schools and Department of Defense Education Activity schools.
